Learn2Play and more WoW

December 23rd, 2008

Learn2Play is a gaming community which has website, forums, gaming servers and a clan. The community is ran by some really awesome people I know and we would be hoping to see more people along! The community supports Child’s Play and they are going to donate 0.80 $ for every member the community has at the end of this year. So ask yourself, why wouldn’t I join a community with awesome people and make it for a good cause? No reason you wouldn’t so join in!

And to WoW again people. Leveling my druid is going well, I am lvl 48 when I write this. I also find a new site to get wow-signatures and the site is better than any I have seen before. The site is Magelo. I got this sig from there so you can keep track of my leveling more easy.

Still playing WoW

December 20th, 2008

Yeah still playing, but now with different character. This character I started at April but got fed up with WoW then and quit. The character was lvl 21 Tauren Druid and I started to play with it when I couldn’t level with the Warrior because everybody wasn’t playing. Now the Druid is lvl 42 and is very funny to play with. You have all kinds of forms, like bear form (increases armor and health and gives you bear abilites), cat form (increases attack power and gives you cat abilites like prone which makes you invisible), Swimming form and Travel form. And then you got your old fashioned spells like heal and so.

Fighting in different kinds of situations make you use different form. Like when you are fighting alone against 1-2 enemies you can use catform and kill them easily, but fighting with 3-4 enemies make you use bear form because you have much more armor and much more health. You can also Tank instances with the bear form and DPS in instances with cat form.

But now I have to get to design a site for Learn2Play. So see ya later!

World of Warcraft continued

December 10th, 2008

Waiting for screenshots? Not this time sorry but info about my character. I found this place to make WoW forum signatures easily and decided to make my signature. Clicking on it will take you to wow-armory to see my gear and talents.

So I am our groups tank which means that I dry to draw attenttion from enemies so they won’t attack our healer and mage. I try to keep the enemies only attacking me so our healer has an easy job of healing me and mage can cast spells on enemies without being attacked. The rogue helps me by doing damage to enemies. It still is fun playing it (I have lost interest in WoW two times when I hit lvl 20) and hopefully it stays as interesting as it is now. I do something else on the evenings though since our mage can’t play all day like rest of us and we respect it by not playing so he won’t be left behind at leveling. Still if you play at Kor’gall pass me a whisper if you read my blog:)

World of Warcraft got me

December 9th, 2008

Some of you might think that I made the extremely wrong choice by deciding to start playing WoW again. Well there is nothing more I can say that it’s your point of view. I have really gotten bored of gaming lately, nothing good enough coming out and I really had to think of what kind of a gamer I am.

When I got to think of it I realised that I somewhat like MMORPG’s, but not those ultra-simple games like Conquer online or anything like that. It was a great coincidence that my cousin invited me to start playing WoW as a Undead Warrior as a member of four man leveling group. I thought of it for a while. Most of my real life and internet friends would probably think that I would have lost my life or something but I also thought that this might be the game that would make me enjoy gaming again. Then I made my choice and walked to a store to buy a 60-day Prepaid card to start playing. All I can say that it has been very enjoyable to play with these three people and I am looking forward to play every day. We are currently at lvl 21-22 and just completed instance called Shadowfang Keep. For those who don’t know what instance is, let me tell you. It’s a dungeon that only your group is in. You walk in together to kill harder monsters than the ones outside the dungeons. Only members of your group can enter. I will post some screenshots as usual later and maybe some more info.

Keep on playin’!

Black Mesa Source

December 3rd, 2008

Half-Life is back. This time its being made by some insanely good source modders so you could see the game that started the Half-Life continuum with improved graphics and gameplay. Even if you have completed Half-Life before you will still want to play this game.

You play as Gordon Freeman, a scientist working in Black Mesa. One day something goes terribly wrong and you will begin your way to escape from the Black Mesa. The things just get worse as you make your way towards the surface when Special Ops are sent to eliminate all survivors from the base. Prepare for unforseen consequences.

Watch the trailer to see how awesome the game looks.

Introduction

Black Mesa (formerly Black Mesa: Source) is a Half-Life 2 total conversion remaking VALVe Software’s award-winning PC game, Half-Life. Utilizing the Source engine, Black Mesa will reintroduce the player as Doctor Gordon Freeman, along with the original cast of memorable characters and environments seen in Half-Life. Black Mesa was built and founded on the basis that Half-Life: Source was inadequate as the Source engine port of Half-Life, regardless of the intentions of VALVe Software. As such, Black Mesa was founded to fully reconstruct the Half-Life universe utilizing Source to its fullest potential in terms of art detail, level sizes and code features. This total conversion will not require Half-Life: Source to play – only a copy of any Source Engine game installed on Steam.

The Environment

Black Mesa is set in and around the Black Mesa Research Facility as depicted in the original Half-Life game. The research facility is a former Cold War missile complex based in New Mexico, and features a diverse array of locations ranging from abandoned rocket testing silos to modern administrative offices, from underground physics laboratories to a full-scale hydroelectric dam. The game continues beyond, into an inter-dimensional border world known as Xen. What will set Black Mesa apart from other Source engine modifications in development is the attention to environment detail. Levels will be faithful to the original Half-Life concept and built from scratch, yet will feature higher-resolution textures, detailed world models, and a higher quality of audio ambience courtesy of the Source engines soundscape system. The end goal of such attention to detail is an immersive single-player environment, which will engross the player in a story that is yet to be matched by any other first-person shooter.

Features

Black Mesa has many features, several of which are still in planning or being tested. Below are a few of the larger and more distinctive features of Black Mesa:

  • Detailed and interactive environments based on the original Half-Life game, including reconstructed multiplayer maps;
  • Single-player, co-operative and deathmatch modes planned;
  • Original music score by Joel Nielsen;
  • Artificial intelligence that will dynamically think, react and interact with and about their environment;
  • Normal, specular and parallax mapping utilized on world surfaces and models where applicable;
  • A priority on gameplay and immersion factors such as ambience, logical functionality and interactivity.

Game Modes

Black Mesa will feature three game modes designed to provide a high replayability factor.

Single-player

  • Assuming the role of Dr. Gordon Freeman you will experience an immersive, story-driven mode of play. A world where around every corner a new threat or situation presents itself, provoking thought and interaction between you and your world. Relying on more than just combat to survive, your wits and intelligence will become strong allies in your fight for survival. Environments will be interactive, rich with detail, fully ambient and NPC characters will react to these environments and your actions therein. A world driven by story, locations conquered by wit, enemies matched with firepower. Welcome to Black Mesa. Run, think, shoot, live, Source.

Co-operative

  • Black Mesa co-op will allow players to not only recruit the assistance of security guards and scientists, but also that of your friends! Share the single-player experience by battling through Black Mesa together. Players will be able to wage battles, travel corridors and emerge victorious over the enemies and escape the confines of the Black Mesa Research Facility.

Deathmatch

  • The adrenaline pumping, bullet dodging, rockets-flying, big-red-button riddled deathmatch is back in classic Half-Life style, featuring graphically enhanced multiplayer maps and the full lineup of weapons. You’ll find yourself having more fun blowing away your friends than, well, anything.
