Team Fortress 2 Classless update. Day 2
August 13th, 2009The folks at Valve have announced an completely new gamemode to be coming with the next patch. It will be a rather simple King of the Hill-gamemode.
Rules of this KotH are rather simple: When map starts, a central controlpoint will be locked and after a while it will be opened for capture by players. When either team captures the point, a 3 minute countdown will start and if the other team doesn’t manage to capture the hill, they lose. If they manage to capture the hill, the enemies clock will freeze and continue from where it left if they manage to capture the hill back.
They also introduced a completely new map for the upcoming gamemode. KotH_Viaduct. This is how Valve describes the map:
Viaduct is an all-new map especially built for KotH, set outside of the entrance to a secret underground base. Viaduct is also the first Team Fortress map to take place during a snowfall (not counting Acegikmo’s awesome cp_glacier map, or for that matter all the other community mappers who manage to think up and execute on all the cool stuff before we even think of it). Both teams start at the base of a low hill, and will have to climb to get to the capture point at the hill’s peak. The various elevations of the map and multiple routes to the central point guarantee some frenzied battles as the point changes hands during gameplay.
They have also converted two old maps to this gamemode, and they will be named KotH_Nucleus and KotH_Sawmill.
And that is all from what was published today. The current things coming in this patch are:
- 18 new hats
- Arena_Offblast
- King of the Hill-gamemode
- KotH_Viaduct
- Two converted maps, KotH_Nucleus and KotH_Sawmill
I will post about the interview with Gabe Nevell later today when it comes out.

Team Fortress 2 Classless update
August 12th, 2009Fireman yeah!
Team Fortress 2 has new update coming up, and this time its classless. That’s right, no new weapons this time.
This is the first day of the new update, and valve has announced that 18 new hats are coming with the update. One example being pyros fireman helmet on the right. There is also a new arena map announced, named Arena_Offblast. The map looks interesting and I love the idea of having more hats.
Now we wait for tomorrow when they hopefully publish more news about the update.

Changing host
August 10th, 2009I will be changing host this week when my old contract runs out. This hosting company is not stable enough and the customer-service sucks. I have already found a pretty good and cheapish one which I will be using.
