Updates to the Steam Signature maker!

March 9th, 2010

I have updated the Steam Signature maker hell of a lot during these couple of days. I almost completely rewrote it to use Xml parsing this time instead of the sucky HTML parsing it was using before (didn’t even know Steam gave users community pages as Xml). Now you can either use your Steam community id (the name you have assigned yourself from the Steam Community options, can be identified by the url being like this: http://steamcommunity.com/id/) or the profile number (can be identified by the url being like this: http://steamcommunity.com/profile/).

The script now also indicates if you are playing a game (picture 1), just online (picture 2), or offline (picture 3).

It will also detect if your profile is private and write a message to indicate that in to the picture.

Oh and caching time has been reduced from 20 minutes to 5 minutes! Script can still be found from http://tomppaduulis.org/imggenerator/test2.php since it’s still in beta.

Oh and one more thing! I am accepting all kinds of backgrounds the script could use, they just need to have the same dimensions as the one currently in use has and the text has to fit to exactly the same spot.

This is the image you can use as reference!<— Click!

Email the completed backgrounds to tomppaduulis@gmail.com, you’ll have your name written to the credits page once I get one made.

I got tired of those Steam signatures with watermarks

March 5th, 2010

So I made my own. It gives a small signature with your avatar, Steam rating and time you have played past 2 weeks.

That’s my signature. You can make your own by going to

http://tomppaduulis.org/imggenerator/test2.php

The images are cached for 20 minutes and the cache folder is emptied once a day.

Whew.. completed the biggest project I have had so far

January 12th, 2010

So I had a big website project for a competition. I had to create a website for a skating team that had index with list of the members and a video of them skating. That was the easy part. Then I had to create an admin panel where admin can add/delete/modify members and events and where members or the admin can modify whetever a member can make it to an event. Making this took a while and while doing it I learned lots of new things.

On the other news, I am back playing WoW with my warrior I leveled. Healing with my druid become quite boring after a while (year) and I decided to try on tanking. Now I have a very good geared tank warrior to go to Icecrown Citadel with. Been clearing 10man with my guild and 25man with pugs. Here is a pic of my warrior and my custom UI (made by me, idea from tankspot).

New theme. Again.

September 15th, 2009

I started to dislike the very dark theme of the blog, so I decided that I wanted it to have more light colors.

This theme, Greenpark 2, hit my eye because of the rather good looking style and because it has the same structure than the dark theme I used. I think I will be using this theme for a while, unless someone really dislikes it.

Fixed an serious issue on the blog

September 6th, 2009

There was an issue on the blog that gave you 404 message whenever you tried to open any particular post. That issue is fixed now though.

New theme for the blog

July 2nd, 2009

So I got a new theme for the blog. Kind of grew tired to the old one, and wanted a more simplish one. This one only has one left panel to add my widgets in, and that is more than enough. My twitter-feed widget doesn’t work right with this one though, but I’ll try to get a replacement for that as soon as possible. That is the only problem I find in this theme though, so I’ll be keeping this one for now atleast.

Merging blogs and news about the map

November 7th, 2008

I will delete my mapping blog and just simply write anything about my mapping to this blog.

And the map is going on still. The red side has gotten the RED:ish look, made of wood and the view outside the window has been made to look like view to a farm area. So the two sides have been decorated completely differently at the moment. I will fix some lightning issues and post pictures after that, promise:D

The site has been updated

October 5th, 2008

The site, http://tomppaduulis.org has been updated. The update was big and time consuming, but I am more than happy of how it looks now. The site is about my maps, so I listed couple of my maps there and have started making new ones to list there. Maybe in the future I will list other peoples maps too, so it would be easier for you to download them.

Another blog for the map and other stuff

August 31st, 2008

I made another blog for the process of the TF2 map. It can be found from “Latest projects” link from the http://tomppaduulis.org and from http://tomppaduulis.org/mapping.

Something else happened too. My scooter broke down. The exhaust pipe went broken but we managed to fix it with my friends. The kickstart also broke but I managed to fix it myself. I didn’t want to walk to school so I had to fix it today.

I can finally sleep for long tomorrow. I have to go to school at 10.45 am and I have no other subjects than computer stuff tomorrow. I can play counter-strike for the whole day at school:D
