Didn’t get thru semi-finals in the competition

January 23rd, 2010

So yeah, didn’t make it through the semi-finals in the competition. Well none of the guys from my school made it and one of them had been in the finals two times.

So what else has happened? I reinstalled my Windows 7 and it feels lot faster. I also switched from Mozilla Firefox to Google Chrome. This is rather nice browser, but it is missing an adblock addon similiar to the one in Firefox.

EDIT:

I was 11th in the semi-finals. Gratz me! :)

Been rather quiet for a while again

December 18th, 2009

Haven’t been posting for a big while because I have a lot of other projects going on. Two websites and some other coding projects.

I will try to write more often, maybe something about my projects.

Awesome player

November 6th, 2009

Probably not the kind of player you think I ment, but she is awesome. So young and plays like an expert. Was bored and spent a long time singing by myself listening to her playing (only time I can sing is when I am alone, since my singing voice is so horrible).

Oh and I also am taking part in a competition where I will be competing in my skill of doing websites. We will be given some paper exams with questions like “if you had PHP-code like this, what would the outcome be?” and etc. I am very nervous about it, since I tend to think I suck at making websites.

Back to using twitter

October 11th, 2009

I added the Twitter widget back to my blog and I will start to use Twitter more often again.

Hmm I guess that’s all for now on… oh wait! It is my Birthday!

ScribeFire and vote for Gordon Freeman!

October 8th, 2009

ScribeFire is a nice Mozilla Firefox addon that let’s you write blog entries directly from your browser. You can use it easily with different kind of blogs like I use it with my wordpress. If you write a blog, you should grab this addon!

Oh and Gamespot is having a competition about the All-time greatest game hero. Gordon Freeman has made his way pretty high, and is now facing against Link. He has a steady lead at the moment because Valve rallied some of his loyal fans to vote for him.
If you haven’t voted already, vote for gordon at: http://www.gamespot.com/greatest-video-game-hero/vote/index.html?battle_id=62

My new laptop

October 4th, 2009

I figured that I could really use a laptop for school and other things where I need my computer.

I bought Acer Aspire 7535G

It has:

  • AMD Athlon 64X QL-65 (2.1 GHz)
  • Ati Mobility Radeon Hd 4570 with 512 mb memory
  • 17.3 HD+ LED LCD
  • 4 gb DDR3
  • 320 gb hdd
  • Free Windows 7 when it comes out

So pretty much everything I need from a laptop and a little more. Didn’t even cost too much (600€).

After a long break, everything is back up again!

September 1st, 2009

The site was down for a rather longish time, because transferring my domain took two weeks for some reason.

Everything is now back up and running though, so sorry about the long downtime.

Changing host

August 10th, 2009

I will be changing host this week when my old contract runs out. This hosting company is not stable enough and the customer-service sucks. I have already found a pretty good and cheapish one which I will be using.

The thing I most came to like about Windows 7 and Vista

July 18th, 2009

Is actually an shell extension, that lets you find target folder of shortcuts faster. The normal way in Xp you have to first click “Properties” and then “Find Target”. If you are like me, and have to use that multiple times a day, an shell extension like this comes really in handy.

Open Target

Open Target

What it does, is it places a link to the menu that comes up when you right-click a shortcut. You can see a picture of it working on the right.

You can download the program from freewaregenius.com(click here to download).

The Piratebay becomes a paysite

July 17th, 2009

The worst fear of the users of The Piratebay is going to come true. TPB will become a paysite. The ex-boss of Grokster, Wayne Rosso, who is creating the new TPB-site, confirmed at CNET NEWS that if you wan’t to download from TPB, you must pay a monthly fee. The amount of the fee hasn’t been published, but Rosso said that the fee becomes smaller if you let Global Gaming Factory X Ab use your computer resources. The more you let them use your resources, the smaller the fee is.

Global Gaming Factory X Ab will rent your resources to anyone with big enough wallet, and therefore TPB will be a competitor to Akamai and Amazon which are offering similiar services.

Rosso claims that if internet operators use their services, they will save up to 80% of the resources needed and therefore they will be saving a lot of money.

There might be a possibility that if you let TPB use enough of your resources, you might be able to download for free, but I highly doubt it. And in my honest opinion it wouldn’t even be worth it. There are enough free torrent-sites in the internet to replace TPB.
